Neighbours' Day in a few words
Neighbours’ Day aims to bring communities together by encouraging people to talk to their neighbours and get to know each other.
The annual event was created in Paris in 1999 and launched in the rest of Europe in 2004. Since then, it has been held in more than 28 countries and over seven million people took part in it last year.
The European Federation of Local Solidarity has appointed the National Housing Federation to become the 2008 event coordinator in England. To find out more, you can visit the NHF website www.housing.org.uk.
